Flower Letter

I got this idea from the Deco Clay Craft book written by Yukiko Miyai. I was thinking it might be a good idea making one flowery Y letter as decoration in my sister's cafe which is called the Yummy Cafe. I covered the Y letter with the sweet Forget-Me-Not flowers and some other small colorful flowers (not sure about their name, so sorry). My sister can hang this flowery Y letter on the door or put it on the cashier counter. But I prefer to hang it on the front door as it goes well with the outdoor seating area. I am considering making more flowers decorations for her cafe. My sister cafe is located in Batam. If you happen to travel there, it's a recommended cafe to visit ^^ I really recommend her Mi-Sop ( Noodle with soup in Indonesian style).

Jewelry Clay

New type of clay arrived today. It's the Grace Jewelry Clay. It takes one week to be completely dry and ready for painting. You need special color powder for painting and a special UV coating for the finishing. Everything is from the same brand Grace from Nisshin Nendo Japan. No baking is required but we have to put the finished project under hot sunshine one whole day before it's ready to be used. Padico Japan provide the UV machine to quicken the process, but since we have hot sunshine everyday down here in Indonesia, so I don't purchase that machine :D

I will upload my work using Jewelry clay as soon as I am done with them. See you ^^

Indonesia Food and Hotel Exhibition 2013

So Sorry that I have been absent from my blog for a while, I was pretty busy because we will have a music concert and also art exhibition in June 2013. A lot of preparations are needed, designing posters, deciding on the themes, getting a right place for the concert, which is the most tiring as my husband and I have to travel around Jakarta looking for the perfect place that suits our needs and budget. So I will be quite busy for the next few months.

I went to the Indonesia Food and Hotel Exhibition 2013 last week, Friday 12 April 2013, to visit my customer's booth. Wow!!! it was a real WOW exhibition. Exhibitors are from all around the world. Food, Horeca, Beverages, etc, It was really an eye-opener event for me. It was my first time to visit this exhibition. The Exhibition is held annually, next year will be in Bali.

My customer's booth is nicely decorated. She covered the floor with the Coffee sacks to create the feel of nature in her booth. It's a creative idea. My handmades are also part of the decorations. ^^

Here I share some pictures taken at my customer's booth.

Training Center

I set up a training center for clay art end of November last year, 2012 and I received a very good response. I am so happy to know that there are so many clay enthutiasts. All the students are so keen to learn and find out what is japanese air-dry clay and how to create something out of clay. It's a great thing to see happy faces of every students everytime they finish they art work and proudly bring them home to show it to their family and friends. In fact, one of our students has actually become a young entrepreneur, now she is earning extra pocket money from making clay for her friends and classmates.

Clay art acitivity is a good choice to train one's creativity, motoric skills and Imagination. I choose Japanese air-dry clay because it is soft, durable, great colors and the most important is that Japanese clay is non-toxic, totally safe for children to use and no baking required. If you are interested to find out more about my training center, just click on The Art Center.

Figurines

Well, besides doing flowers (which I love the most) I also make figurines. My figurines are made of Japanese air-dry clay, too. Here are some pictures of figurines I made as requested by customers.

Coffee Project (III)

I was asked to make more sets of Coffee fruits on stem with leaves and coffee flowers hair decorations. I really have to rush this additional order. They need it on this coming Wednesday, 10 April 2013. Last minute order is actually very difficult for me because I don't want to spoil the details on my work, but I am glad that they like my handmade. I can only try my best to finish everything on time.

Coffee Project (II)

Finally I am done with this project. I am so happy to see the results. I hope my handmade will make the Maharaja's booth the most attractive booth in the exhibition. That's the whole purpose of the decorations. Catch attention and huge business deal.

Coffee Project

Tonight my working table is full of coffee flowers and coffee fruits, still lots more to make. Hope I could make it on time for the exhibition. Below is the picture of the coffee fruits before I apply glossy finishing on them. Real coffee fruits are shiny. I use Japanese Padico Gloss Sealer for the finishing. It is easy to use, quick-dry and doesn't smell. They are also available in my shop :)

The coffee flowers are for rings and earrings. Today I uploaded the picture of the rings. I will upload the picture of the earrings as soon as I am done with them.

Flowers on frame

Traditional arrangement

Suddenly I just had this idea of making our Indonesian traditional flower arrangement on a postcard-size frame. I love the fragrance of Jasmine flower and the exotic look of Plumeria, so I decided to combine them together. Obviously you can't smell any fragrance from clay flower, but you can apply aromatherapy oil on them. I applied my favourite Teddy's Dream (from Lovely Lace) aromatherapy oil on most of my clay flower arrangements, and my customers just love it.

Orchid, Roses and Tuberoses arrangements

I apply my favourite aromatherapy oil on this arrangements. The soothing fragrance of the aromatherapy oil fill the whole room in my little shop. It helps to release your bad mood :D
This is arrangement of Phalaenopsis, Yellow roses and Tuberoses.

Hydrangea, Roses and Lilac

I love this sweet soft color combination. I also apply drops of aromatherapy oil on this one. Love it ^^

All of these clay flowers are made without using mould and cutter.
Materials : Hearty soft clay (white and colored pack)

Welcome Signboard

This is one of my favourite Welcome Signboard. I hang this at one of the corner in my little shop.
Yes! the welcome sign is made of clay, too ^^ . I painted it to get the real woody effect.

Coffee

I am working on this "coffee" project ordered by one of Indonesia famous coffee trader Maharaja. They will use the fruits as decorations for their exhibition in this coming April 2013. The flowers will be applied as rings and earrings.

"Not many people aware of how does coffee flowers look like, we want to share the knowledge with them", said the owner of Maharaja. I really think this is a very good idea, because it's also my first time seeing coffee fruits and flowers!!!!! This is a very challenging project. I love it ^o^
